Na Timberland, estamos cientes do impacto que a indústria da moda tem no meio ambiente e na economia.
Por isso, lançámos projetos que dão uma nova vida aos materiais desperdiçados, reutilizando-os e transformando-os.
Por cada quilo de roupa “recirculado” impedimos a emissão de 3,6 kg de CO2, poupamos 6000 litros de água e evitamos a produção de 0,2 kg de pesticidas e de 0,3 kg de fertilizantes. A reutilização de produtos usados para criar novos produtos permite poupar recursos não-renováveis e atribui um novo valor às coisas.
O programa Second Chance (Segunda Oportunidade) visa dar uma nova vida ao calçado descartado. O programa foi lançado pela primeira vez em 2016 na Alemanha de forma experimental. Nove países novos e 1700 pares de sapatos depois, decidimos expandir este sucesso e levar o projeto ao resto da Europa.
A partir de 2021, recolhemos e distribuímos não apenas calçado, mas também vestuário, como um passo adicional em direção ao nosso objetivo de 2030 de causarmos um impacto positivo e deixarmos a Natureza melhor do que a encontrámos.
